The Music Theory – Basic Music Theory courses are designed for students beginning their theoretical music education and are an essential complement to practical instrument lessons.

Lessons are conducted in a group format on a monthly basis, aiming to foster understanding of the fundamental concepts of musical notation and reading.

During the lessons:

• basic musical concepts are taught (staff, notes, values)

• score reading ability is developed

• musical perception and rhythm are enhanced

• progress in instrument lessons is supported

Music theory lessons are a foundation of musical education and are essential for a student’s systematic progress at the conservatory.

Tuition refers to a monthly subscription for participation in a group music theory class, according to the conservatory’s schedule.
